Welcome to your first day of the LIVE RICHER Challenge: Savings Edition!

This week we’re tackling your Savings Mindset. It doesn’t matter how much money you make; if you don’t have the right tools, attitude, or knowledge about saving, you won’t be able to stack your coins.


For the first day of this Challenge, I want you to identify your specific savings goals. For example, “I want to save $600 in six months”.

Write your goals down and place them somewhere where you will see them every day to keep them in the forefront of your mind. Then share them with someone you trust. Feel free to share them in the COMMENTS below. I’d love to read them.


For your goals to be most effective, make sure they answer these three questions:

1) What? (“I will save $600.”)

2) When? (“I will save $600 by October 16th.”)

3) How? (I will save $600 by October 16th by reducing my phone bill and packing my lunch for work each day.”)

What’s next? Choose an accountability partner or partners. I highly recommend that you choose a partner or organize a group of people who are also participating in the Challenge so you can work together through the tasks.

Why is Day 1’s task so important?

1) Putting your goals on paper gives them power.

2) Keeping them somewhere visible serves as a constant reminder.

3) Sharing them with others will hold you accountable (you can share them in the comments below as well).

So, let’s get to it! Write down your goals, identify your accountability partner, and share what you’re saving for with your network and with me in the comments.

  • I want to save 5k by end of the year. So I can move.I started by taking lunch to work. I also have a binder with daily pockets to put cash.

  • I want to save $550 by 12/31/2024. I plan to do this by when I purchase adult beverages for my home, I make one purchase per month. When it’s gone, no more purchases until the next month.

  • My goal is to save $3000 by 12/31/24. I plan to eliminate/reduce impulse purchases by waiting 48 hours between the first time I want something and buying it.

  • I want to save $1,000 in 6 months. I plan to do this by saving $7 everyday and being mindful of my Amazon purchases and eating fast food no more than 1x to none in a week.

  • I want to save ₹70,512 by the end of this year i.e. 31-12-2024 , and I Have some plans for doing that let’s hope I can save and exceed the amount that I have yet finalized by the year end

  • I will save my $5k by the end of the year. I will do this by creating a budget and consistently sticking to it. For the next 11 pay periods (March-January), I will put $455 in my savings account every month when my disability check posts. I will not touch this money, and with interest I will have over $5k to buy myself some land at an auction.

  • I want to save $2000 emergency money by 6/30/2024. I’m going to cut back on grocery and avoid impulse shopping. I’m going to be more mindful about my spending and ask myself is this something I need or is this something I want.

  • I will save $100 per month. I will do a payroll deduction $50 every two weeks into my online savings account, stop buying Starbucks 3 times a week and cook at home instead of eating out.

  • I plan on saving $900 by Dec. 31, 2024 . I’ve already cut down on my expenses and bargain shop the only thing I struggle with is discipline and consistency.

  • My 90-day goals are 1) pay off my AMEX by 1 June 24, 2) save 50% of my pay in my everyday household account, and 3) save 30% of my pay in my other expenses account. By doing so, I expect to save $4700 by 21 April.

  • I want to save $5k by 12/31/24. I have set up automation for saving and I will not dip into those accounts.

  • My goal is to save $800 by 12/31/24. I’ve already saved $1000 by using Oportun (Digit) but in addition I will put away $100 per month from May-Dec for emergencies.

  • I will save 10% of my income for the next 6 months. I will cut back on purchasing unnecessary items at the grocery store.

  • I will save $1000.00 by August(Trip with girlfriends) by saving $600 from my third paycheck next month then $200.00 in June and another $200.00 in July.

  • I purchased both books: Made Whole and Good with Money I am investing in my future self which is building a relationship with money.

  • I want to save 5000$ in 6 months 11/30/2024, I have already create an other account and ask my bank to transfer a half of any deposit that I am going to make.

  • I want to save $600 by 12/3/2024. I plan to stop using buy now pay later apps such as Klarna and Afterpay.
